Changes to Cholesterol Screening at CDHD
Aug. 27, 2018
The walk-in cholesterol screening offered by CDHD is moving to a by-appointment basis. This will allow you to schedule a time that works best for you. More details will be posted to this page as they are available.
Everyone age 20 and older should have their cholesterol measured at least once every five years. The higher your LDL level and the more risk factors you have the greater your chances are of developing heart disease or having a heart attack.
Screening includes HDL/LDL levels, Cholesterol/HDL ratio, triglycerides, blood pressure check, and nutrition and exercise guidelines.
You must fast for 8 to12 hours and drink plenty of water to hydrate your veins. It is recommend that you do not drink alcohol for 48 hours prior to your visit.
