The Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health recently awarded the Central District Health Department (CDHD) a $20,000 Childhood Obesity Prevention grant to work with community stakeholders to develop a Complete Streets policy in the city of Mountain Home.

Every year, thousands of Americans get sick with recreational water illnesses (RWIs), which are caused by germs found in places where we swim. The goal of RWII Prevention Week is to raise awareness about healthy and safe swimming.

A bat found in a northern Idaho home tested positive for rabies last week, prompting public health officials to warn people throughout the state to take precautions around bats.
CDHD Offers Immunizations Services at Sports Physicals Event at BSU

The IHSAA requires that athletic physical exams take place during an athlete’s freshmen and junior year of participation. This applies to all students who will be freshmen and juniors during the 2013-2014 school year and will be participating in any high school sport. On June 6th Boise and Meridian athletes can take part in a large-scale physical exam event at BSU. CDHD will be there for immunizations reviews and vaccines for students needing it.
