Alert RE: Idaho Food Service Compliance Center
March 23, 2009
Under Idaho Code all food establishments must post hand washing signs near any facility that could be used by employees to wash their hands. Hand washing stickers are available free of charge from any of the seven health districts and the state Department of Health and Welfare, Food Protection Program.
Recently a letter from the Idaho Food Service Compliance Center has been sent to food establishments throughout the region. The letter correctly references Idaho Code and then attempts to sell recipients signs that would bring them into compliance.
The Idaho Food Service Compliance Center is not affiliated with any of the state’s seven health districts or the state Department of Health & Welfare. Food establishments are under no official obligation to purchase signage from this company or any other company. For more information contact the Environmental Health Food Program.
